Professional Experience
Samuel holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Moi University (Kenya) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law (Kenya). He is enrolled as an advocate to the Bar both in South Sudan and Kenya and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya).
Areas of Practice
Samuel’s areas of practice include, but is not limited to, oil and gas law, commercial transactions, contract review and drafting, company law, land law and conveyancing, taxation law, alternative dispute resolution, employment and labour laws, intellectual property law, media law, immigration law, NGO establishment and operations law, banking and insurance law and litigation.
Experience
Prior to establishing Piyanile & Co. Advocates, Samuel worked at Robson Harris & Co. Advocates (Kenya) and later at South Sudan Associated Advocates (South Sudan). In addition to working at the Firm, Samuel lectures at the University of Juba, College of Law, he is also a consultant in Oil and Gas Law at the National Petroleum and Gas Commission. Samuel is also the Chancellor in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan.
